Installations - Gently Tinkling in the Distance - Dec 10 Gently Tinkling in the Distance was an installation at the Minutiae Winter Group Show at Bank Street Arts. The show was focused on small works of art and I responded by making an installation of 'small sounds'. The source sounds were made from manually rolling the barrels of music boxes extremely slowly, to arrive at something Morton Feldman-esque, small, disconnected tinkling notes. These were placed against a bed of the same sounds manipulated by granulation, for a humming, shimmering undercurrent. The installation was presented on 8 tiny loudspeakers dangling from their wires in the gallery space.
