Installations - Speaker Plant - CADS - April 2011
This work explored the sculptural potential of speaker cones and connecting wires with the intention arriving at a composition that had an organic plant like quality (an idea developed further in later works). Having that idea as a starting point it seemed appropriate to populate this plant with some wildlife, so the soundtrack which it is playing has been made from a recording of cicadas that I took whilst visiting a friend and working on his allotment in Berkeley, California.
